I would like to take this opportunity to relay my experience with the White County Council on Aging and the Senior Center.
My father has been regularly attending the Senior Center for a couple of years. He looks forward to visiting with other seniors as well as the staff of the Center. He even looks forward to visiting with other seniors as well as the staff of the Center. He even asks about going on the weekends! He has made new friends there and especially enjoys it when new people he knows comes. He liked to show them around and make them welcome in the same manner that he was welcomed as a newcomer.
My fathers happiness and safety are of my utmost concern. I feel confident that he is cared for lovingly while I am at work. The staff communicates with me any concerns they have, so I am assured he is in good hands. I know he gets a balanced meal each day, has stimulating activities to enjoy, and opportunities for trips outside the center.
Without this program, including transportation to and from the Center, I would not be able to work in my current career. We don't have available funds for other types of caregivers, nor do I believe that nursing home care would be beneficial to my father.
Recently, my mother-in-law passed away, so we are now assisting with both my father and my father-in-law. We encouraged my father-in-law to stop by the center. He is close to 90 and still is able to drive himself there. He is enjoying having a place to go for companionship and a good meal. The center is truly a blessing in our lives. I have no idea what we would do without its many services. We appreciate the hard working and caring people that make the Center what it is. They deserve far more than one small letter can convey.
Thanks,
Paulette Logan
